What are some of your most nostalgic, more general memories of the 90s? Share and help remind me :). No ability, and therefore no pressure, to constantly be "connected" to anyone. Just lounging around your room, thinking, writing in journals, watching tv, reading, or doing nothing, but with no ability to constantly check/see/compare what other friends were doing in that exact moment. I think that's the best way to describe it. That amazing rush of anticipation of the possibility of seeing them and the special magic it gave these otherwise mundane excursions (as opposed to just turning on your phone and seeing their socials). Social events like county fairs, football games, even just riding bikes around town.these were your moments, and opportunities, to see people, perhaps the person you had a crush on, or meet some people that you had been waiting to see or befriend. Telephone conversations on landlines.wrapping that curled telephone cord around your fingers as you chatted about nothing to other kids your age while your parents rolled their eyes and told you to stop hogging the phone. Music.hearing a song on the radio and feeling your heart leap in your chest because you didn't know when you could hear it next, rushing to find out the name of the song so you could search for it in casette or CD form. like Jerry Springer, riding bikes to the neighborhood pool, sleeping on our the trampoline in sleeping bags. Lounging around on hot days, watching terrible daytime t.v. How time stood still and you were in a different, lazy reality that was completely disconnected from everything. Summer vacations.just everything about them. Strangely, the things I find the most nostalgic are the smaller, more general memories, not big events. Sometimes, in a way that I'm sure our parents felt too (ugh I'm getting old lol ), I feel super nostalgic about my memories of the 90s, and wish that my 7 year old daughter could share those memories. I was born in '83, so I am a 90's kid at the core (7-17 years old!!).
